Mohamed Marzouk

Dr. Marzouk is Professor of Construction Engineering and Management in the Structural Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University. Dr. Marzouk has more 20 years of experience in the Civil Engineering. His expertise has been in the fields of structural engineering, project management, contract administration, construction engineering and management, and projects’ monitoring. His experience covers different phases of projects including design, construction, monitoring, research, consulting, and project management. He also served as a consultant for many mega-construction projects in Egypt.


Dr. Marzouk authored and co-authored over 200 scientific publications. He has acted as a Principle Investigator (PI) for several research grants. His research interests include simulation and optimization of construction processes, object-oriented simulation, sustainability, green building, Building Information Modeling (BIM), fuzzy logic and its applications in construction, risk analysis, and decision analysis. Dr. Marzouk has been involved in several academic and scientific committees. Dr. Marzouk has been awarded several excellence awards and scholarships including: “Abdul Hameed Shoman Prize for Arab Researchers for Year 2017 (Field: Engineering – Urban Infrastructure)” in 2018, “Academy of Science and Technology Prize for Environmental Research” in 2017, and “State Encouragement Prize in Advanced Technology in Engineering” in 2016 & 2009.
